making SoftVDigX work with FinalCut Pro?

SoftVDigX works excellently with HackTV and Btv. FCP detects it, opens the component, but then promptly closes it and does not show it in the list of available video sources. What types of VDIG will FCP recognize?

Does FCP allow video input from VDIG's or do I have to go another route? What characteristics does a VDIG need for FCP to be able to use it? SoftVDigX says it works with FCP 4.0.1, but FCP 4.5 definitely does not support SoftVDigX. Did something change?
