I am getting about a 7:1 using an 8 processor machine. Almost all other codecs are near real time. Is this codec just a dog or what? I can encode 10 bit HD 422 1080p faster than this. Anyone know of any new codecs that can hit he registers on the new machines? DCV Pro 25. Has anyone successfully used a codec other than DVC to edit with in FCP and or Premiere? TIA ... When your plugin changes a point parameter, if you change the X value *but not the Y value*, the change won't stick. This is something we'll need to fix on our end. In the meantime, you should be able to work around it by changing the point parameter twice - first to a dummy value, then to the value you want - so that both the X and Y components change. I have a plugin that has a popup parameter to specify presets. When the user changes the value, the plugin sets the values of a number of other parameters based on a set of values associated with the particular preset. What I'm finding is that with a point parameter, the x- and y-value are not always updated correctly, but only in FCP/ FCE, not Motion. Also, other types of parameters seem to behave correctly in all three applications. All of the parameters are added with flags set to kFxParameterFlag_NOT_ANIMATABLE, so the values should be constant across an entire timeframe of the effect. Hoping to narrow down the problem, I wrote a small test generator plugin that just has a popup parameter and a point parameter. I dumped out the values in -parameterChanged: and -renderOutput: and found that the values had changed along the way. I also noticed that the UI was not reflecting the updated values either, in this case. We had some issues with setting point control values in earlier versions of Final Cut, but they should be fixed now. And I haven't seen anything where setting the value works in -parameterChanged, but then gets undone before -renderOutput. Can you send me the source for your small test generator? In Motion you should never receive any pixel format that isn't some form of RGB. My FxPlugin views properly with "Normal" Render Quality, at Depth of both 8 bit int and 32 bit float. But, with "Best", the image is dimmed, and pure black goes bright green. Pure black going green is a sign that Y'CbCr data is being interpreted as RGB data rather than being converted to RGB. That sounds like a bug in Motion. I just ran a quick test with some 10-bit Y'CbCr footage and I see that Broadcast Safe - one of our built-in filters that works in software - also exhibits this problem. It looks like a bug on our end. FWIW, if you can get your filter running in hardware, it won't have this problem with 10-bit Y'CbCr footage. I have filed a bug about this.
