The second one that loads isn't finding some of its embedded resources - I suspect it's getting the wrong bundle id or something. Unfortunately, I can't control the order they load. On one machine, v1 is loading first (so v2 messes up), and in mine, v2 is loading first (so v1 messes up). I've tried deleting the bundles and copying them in different orders, to no avail - FCP always loads them in the same order they were before. On our Intel Mac Pros with two Geforce 7300 cards installed, FxPlugs won't load in FCP - but will load in Motion. The only (very inconvenient) fix for us is to remove any additional video cards when working with FCP. That doesn't sound right. The FxPlugs don't load (aren't visible in the Effects tab), or they don't render? Can you send me a system profile? Have you filed a bug against Final Cut? By any chance, are you running with extra video cards? On our Intel Mac Pros with two Geforce 7300 cards installed, FxPlugs won't load in FCP - but will load in Motion. There are a few unofficial scripts out there. We had some problems in the 5.1.4 days where running the ProAppsUpdate updaters could sometimes leave the system in an inconsistent state, which (among other things) would prevent FxPlugs from loading. I believe a similar problem can occur if you do an Archive & Install of the operating system. As Darrin says, often there is a clue in the console when you start up FCP as to what's missing. You can also send me a system profile and I can try to figure out what, if anything, is misconfigured. No FxPlugs are loading. Not ours or any other ones I have installed. The only way to do what we need to do is through access to the readXML and writeXML command line applications. This cannot be done in an automated manner through Final Cut Server using watchers and events. Can anyone from Apple let me know where the documentation on those command-line apps are and the documentation for the Final Cut Server XML format is? We've purchased Final Cut Server with the express requirement to do these types of things – some of this stuff is part of the marketing for the software but is just not available. It doesn't help that Apple has yet to release any information on this stuff, and when they did it's just the Ruby on Rails stuff at WWDC, which I did not have a chance to attend this year. Anyone go that is willing to share source? Is that allowed even allowed? I know the API and documentation is available through my contacts with Telestream and a few other 3rd party vendors - Apple has provided them with some of this information.
