Problems calculate time

Assuming that the 'offset' describes the offset of a clip or title from the beginning of a sequence in seconds, the offset of the titles seems to be about 8:xm:xs:xf when converted to timecode. The timeline shows 0:3:xm:xf as timecode for the titles. Unfortunately this calculation error is not constant with the different clips, for some they are correct for others not. Typically only the main thread has a run loop. If you are being called from a non-main thread (like a render thread), and you want to schedule some work to be done later on the main thread, then -performSelectorOnMainThread is probably what you want. If you are being called from a non-main thread (like a render thread), and you want to schedule some work to be done later on the non-main thread, that is more problematic. For one thing, the render thread is probably not expecting you to add additional work. For another, with GCD, the thread may be deleted or re-used after the current work unit is finished. I wouldn't recommend trying to do this. Keep in mind that in a multithreaded application, it's important to synchronize access to shared data like parameter values, etc. The host app might not be prepared for your plugin to run at an arbitrary time. So scheduling work to be performed "later" on the main thread may lead to unpredictable problems. FCP X: perform selector after delay

site_archiver(a)lists.apple.com Delivered-To: Pro-apps-dev(a)lists.apple.com Hello, I want a selector of an FxPlug effect to be performed after a delay in FCP X and have tried - (void)performSelector:(SEL)aSelector withObject:(id)anArgument afterDelay:(NSTimeInterval)delay; and + (NSTimer *)scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:(NSTimeInterval)ti target:(id)aTarget selector:(SEL)aSelector userInfo:(id)userInfo repeats:(BOOL)yesOrNo; but it seems both methods don't work on the same thread where the effect's methods are called. We figure that once the user has seen it, they don't want to be told over and over again that it's a problem, as they probably understand it already. If we didn't do it this way, it would be shown for every piece of footage over the limit on every frame rendered, which would be too overwhelming for the user to dismiss. By the way, this limit is hardware-specific. Some cards have higher or lower limits. I believe the highest-end cards can do either 8k x 8k or possibly even 16k x 16k. However, it's pretty rare that a user would need something that large. Even if you're working on film, that's generally only up to 4k on the longest side. You might want to make sure that process / application doesn't activate, or come to the foreground - which I would expect to throw FCPX out of full screen . This is something you could control via NSWorkspace.
