Filters on text get rendered in screen space, so the output image for text will be the same size as the project. This is probably what you're seeing. It's not clear from your images if that's the problem or not, though. Can you elaborate on what you're trying to do and how the output differs from what you expect? We need this to scale the value of a pixel based parameter. I'm currently seeing FxRenderInfo.scaleX = frameOutputWidth / .moef template width which is all relative. FxRenderInfo.qualityLevel seemed promising but it always returns 0, whether FCPX is running in full res or proxy quality. Apple Event timeout

One of my apps was failing for a customer to retrieve XML from FCP7 using an Apple Event request. The customer's project file was huge, and the XML representation of it was 94MB. The event had a timeout set to kAEDefaultTimeout, but I guess it was timing out before FCP7 could process the big project and respond. You can't have a custom UI font menu published from Motion to FCPX, that much is true. However, you do have some options. Probably the easiest is to implement a simple OSC that doesn't draw anything but allows the user to press a key combo to bring up the system "Fonts" panel. It's not as discoverable as other methods, though. You could also have a fixed-list of fonts you know will be on all systems. That's limiting and kind of lame, though. You could have an OSC button that when clicked displays the system "Fonts" panel, or use some other regular UI control in an odd way to do it. 10.0.1 still passes truncated 8 bit data during rendering?

During previewing a call to glGetTexLevelParameteriv([inputTexture target], 0, GL_TEXTURE_INTERNAL_FORMAT, (void *) &format); show that the internal format for the inputTexture is GL_RGBA32F_ARB as expected. However during rendering (i.e. export) the same call shows that the internal format if the inputTexture is now GL_RGBA8_EXT (8 bit RGBA) whereas [inputTexture depth] is reported to be 32 and renderInfo.depth == kFxDepth_FLOAT32 Obviously the choice of texture formatting during rendering/export is incorrect and causes all sorts of truncation issues. A bug # 9772463 was filed on this for 10.0.0 on Jul 13. Please, please fix this or provide a workaround if such exists. I recommend looking at the app-supplied versions to see how they work and mimicking their length and structure. (They can be found inside Motion's Application bundle in Motion.app/Contents/LibraryContent/Filters/<category>/<filter name>.) You then need to change the document's extension to ".mopr" (short for Motion Preview), and you need to update your plugin's Info.plist file with the path of the preview file for the key "previewPath" in its ProPlugPluginList entry.
