As for working around it, if your filter doesn't change the size of the image, then you might be able to use the input texture coordinates instead of the output (though you may have to offset them), or something like that. The output looks ok so far. Now enable "Fixed Resolution" in the group settings. If you don't see the shape anymore, move it to the left bottom corner, and you should see the upscaled shape. Now add a generator, e.g. a Chess pattern, to this group. The output looks again as expected.
This problem doesn't appear with Motion 4. Is there a way to handle this correctly within an FxFilter?
