Hi Ugur
I need the actual video/audio, i.e. I need to get each frame in DV, and
each audio sample in 48kHz 16-bit format.
--- that will be an export of the edited movie into your media format...
The original media files will be stored in the mac, and only the edited,
ready-to-broadcast clips are required to be present in the server, so
EDL is not to our use.
Our device supports only DV-25, so mpeg / IMX is not considered for now.
As far as I can understand, I need to write some component in quicktime
(which will take video frames, pack them together in the custom
media-file format, and send it to our server with ftp ), and then tell
Final Cut to render to this one (format?/component?). As the original
clips will always be in dv25 format, I hope it is possible to get frames
in compressed format (so that recompression is not required).
---- You should probably write an encoding algorirthm in a format which quicktime can understand. Then you will take your edited (and rendered) movie in FCP and then making an export with quicktime, using your encoding algorithm. Then you will have the final movie in your format. ...... Then use a ftp tranfer program or set up an folder with folder actions, that will transfer the final movie to your ftp server...
In the Quicktime documentation I found an entry
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/REF/refDataExchange.e
.htm
I think this might be it.
Thanks all for your kind help.
Ugur Turan.
