Put in a feature request. I've been asking for this feature for a long time. It's not implemented. You cannot update an Event, only create a new one, via XML. Philip On Sep 6, 2013, at 8:50 AM, James Woodman <james.woodman@acteoncommunication.com> wrote:
Hello, everyone. I have a question about how FCPX behaves when importing an XML event file.
If I export an event as XML data, then re-load that XML file, FCPX creates a completely new event with new copies of all the assets.
What I want to do is to add extra marker/keyword metadata to the XML, then use it to update the information in FCP's existing event.
Is it possible to tell FCPX to update an event rather than creating a new one?
I can't find anything in the FCPXML docs except references to the "FCP-assigned unique id" -- which should all be correct, since FCP generated them in the first place.
Thanks in advance for your help.
James
