No, today the metadata is not indexed by Spotlight. We're working on enabling this in the long term, but turning on universal metadata indexing introduces performance challenges that need to be addressed. Another question is, if I would modify the metadata within the current limitations are they searchable by a Spotlight search (includes Xsan search in 10.5)?
