I'm sitting here with our Final Cut Server box and we need to integrate it with some external systems. The only way to do what we need to do is through access to the readXML and writeXML command line applications. This cannot be done in an automated manner through Final Cut Server using watchers and events. Can anyone from Apple let me know where the documentation on those command-line apps are and the documentation for the Final Cut Server XML format is? We've purchased Final Cut Server with the express requirement to do these types of things – some of this stuff is part of the marketing for the software but is just not available. It doesn't help that Apple has yet to release any information on this stuff, and when they did it's just the Ruby on Rails stuff at WWDC, which I did not have a chance to attend this year. Anyone go that is willing to share source? Is that allowed even allowed? I know the API and documentation is available through my contacts with Telestream and a few other 3rd party vendors - Apple has provided them with some of this information.
