I guess the question becomes, what do you want this dialog to do? You say you're not manipulating audio or video data. Are you exporting a file of some sort? If you're allowing the user to change some settings, what settings are they changing, and for what application or plugin, or whatever? What exactly are you trying to do?
From what you've described so far, it sounds like you just want a random dialog to be displayed in Final Cut Pro to present some data to the user. But it sounds like your dialog isn't really related to Final Cut Pro in any way. What is this dialog for? What sort of data are you showing to the user or trying to get from them? It's really hard to give you a specific answer when you wont give us any more information than that. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
