I recommend looking at the app-supplied versions to see how they work and mimicking their length and structure. (They can be found inside Motion's Application bundle in Motion.app/Contents/LibraryContent/Filters/<category>/<filter name>.) You then need to change the document's extension to ".mopr" (short for Motion Preview), and you need to update your plugin's Info.plist file with the path of the preview file for the key "previewPath" in its ProPlugPluginList entry. For the standard filters that motion provides , there will be video that displays it's functionality in the view area at the top left portion of motion when ever the user selects that particular effect from library . please let me know how to add such video to filters that user builds using fxplug. I have attached screen shot that shows the one for the standard black hole effect provided by motion.
