Within the last month or so, anything QuickTime has started crashing on both my Macs, and those of my co-worker. I have 7.2 (the latest, I think). Just trying to launch the PLAYER crashes immediately, and trying to play QuickTime files in FCP crashes FCP. iTunes also crashes immediately. The crashes always happen in com.apple.QuickTime, down in the Audio Manager code, in a std::_Rb_tree<AudioContextProxy *> operation. Anyone seen this, or know why it happens? It's happening on all of our machines, so I'm surprised I can't seem to pull up any discussion on google. We're running the latest FCP Suite, Adobe CS3, and Avid Media Composer, if that matters.
