I'm trying to set timecode for quicktime and avi clips via xml it seems to ignore the timecode field in the xml if there isn't already a timecode track in the quicktime file. For AVIs, if you set the timecode inside FCP, it appears to add the timecode to the file (in the rsrc fork?) somehow but not for new avi's just copied onto the box. Is it intentional that the timecode field is ignored if there's no timecode track available? Are there any workarounds? This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
