Thanks for the doc, exactly what I needed! I have a preview UI that I use in some products, it needs to access its own params (and inputs) from other times during UI events, maybe you can add that in the future too? Maybe put a reply-to adress to list so we can just hit reply? Peace, Peder Norrby / Trapcode Hi, Peder, None of what you ask for (groups, enabling / disabling, supervising) works in FCP 5.1.4, but it should all work in the upcoming version 6. Here's a document which will be available with the FxPlug 1.2 SDK which describes what's new with FxPlug in FCP 6, as well as the limitations that we still have. - Paul On Apr 29, 2007, at 6:56 PM, Peder Norrby wrote: _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list. We certainly had some limitations in FCP 5, and tried to address the majority of them in 6. Although we probably would have done even better if we had Darrin on our team :) I filed a bug about accessing params during UI events; we should support this, since we let AE plugins do it. The bug # is 5170560; it would be good to have this number for reference if you want to check up on it. I didn't mean to remain anonymous; I just removed my address from the CC line so I wouldn't get this message twice. I would like to keep the list CC'd on most threads, though, since most developers have similar questions, and might be interested in our answers. Hi All,
I understand FCP does not support paramter groups, right?
But Motion does, right?
And both are FxPlug.
That does not make sense.
When will you fix so FCP supports grouping? :) Darrin, is this you
beeing lazy? :) just kidding, I know you are top notch. I forgot if
you work on Motion or FCP?
Do you in any way in FCP show grouping hints (like a subject and
thicker border) or do you just skip the grouping as defined in the
FxPlug API?
Do you support (I'd like to know answers for both FCP and Motion):
Enabling/Disabling of params? (grey out and unusable)
Supervising (setting a param in response to user changing some
other param)
As you understand this is a request to make the FxPlug implementations
of Motion and FCP to behave the same, and for now, let me know the
differences so I can make good UI's for the users.
Peace,
Peder Norrby / Trapcode
