Sorry, forgot one other detail: FCP's picture icon for the clip in the time line is correct. Also, if you enable film strip mode, all the pictures along the time line are correct. It is only the playback in the preview or main windows that is missing the first video segment.

For one of our formats we need to stitch together multiple video and audio files to make a complete A/V clip in FCP. If there is only one video file and one audio file per track, everything works perfectly in FCP and QT Player. I have tried adding a fake dataRef to another file with no media in the video track, but this does not help. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
