Before that shift, I know many people who were excited about the possibility of being able to have quartz composer protocol compositions work in Final Cut without a bridge, since they match FC's notion of generator/filter/renderer(consumer) so well. It was quite disappointing for that to not wind up happening. I can't help but feel like that would have solved many of the things that the Final Cut/Motion pairing was intended to, and that it would have given a feeling of more possibilities, and greater ease of use, rather than less of either.
