We have a capture app that creates DV .mov files which play just fine in FCP but if you use media manager to trim unused media from them the audio track is silently removed, with no errors reported. Sounds like it's creating a .dv multiplexed stream inside a QT mov. QT (and FCP) don't deal elegantly with multiplexed files. Best advice would be to convert form the multiplexed dv stream into a more "normal" dv video track, dv audio track and the TC track, rather than the one multiplexed track. No, it's a regular QT movie with a DV - PAL video track, an Uncompressed stereo audio track, and a timecode track. It's just not one created by Final Cut. I can imagine the media might be interleaved differently but it should still be a perfectly normal .mov file. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
