Is there a problem with with the XML that FCP 6 produces if log notes contain accented characters? It looks like the XML is specifying the wrong encoding. The header says the file is UTF-8, but it actually seems to be MacRoman. For example, the UTF8 for i-diaresis (as in naive) ought to be 0xC3 0xAF and yet I'm getting 0xCC 0xF8, which throws up parse errors when I try to read the file. Manually editing the file produced by Final Cut in a text editor and changing the first line to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="MacRoman"?> fixes the problem. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm not sure if it's a bug in Final Cut or a problem in the way I'm parsing the file. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
