Re: avc1 file from Panasonic GH5 unplayable by AVFoundation
site_archiver@lists.apple.com Delivered-To: pro-apps-dev@lists.apple.com Seems that 10 bit avc1 isn’t supported. The 60p file I had was 8 bit. A customer has reported lack of video playback in one of our AVFoundation apps which I’ve replicated.
This is a 25p .mov shot on Panasonic GH5 at 3840x2160. It doesn’t play in QT Player (which raises alarm bells), neither do 24p and 30p versions. However what’s weird is that a 60p file DOES play in QT Player and our app.
FCP reports all of these files as ‘avc1’ codec as expected.
The 2.0.6 pro codecs is installed and VTRegisterProfessionalVideoWorkflowVideoDecoders(); is being called.
Anyone else seen this?
thanks
