If you write the XML for FCP only (means no other apps should work with it) you don't have to care about timecode entries at all. Using a XML (unfortunately) FCP always uses the file path and takes the TC/ TC Type/Reel from the QT file's TC tracks (Source/Aux1/Aux2) itself - and will overwrite any value in the XML. We have a plugin that creates QuickTime movies containing time code tracks, and imports them into FCP using XML, where we also specify the time code information. Could someone explain how FCP determines which time code information to import in this case? Are QuickTime time code tracks always preferred? Also, there seem to be many different places to put time code information in the XML, such as within clips, tracks, and files. I'm currently putting the same time code information in both the clip element, and the clip's file element. Is this unnecessary? Where should I put the time code information in the XML so that the reel name appears in the clip bin? _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
