FXScript plugins are text files. One possibility is that you are copying the plugins in such a way that the line endings get messed up. Are you storing the plugins on a Windows server, or a server accessed via SMB? If that's not it, then it sounds like a problem with the third-party plugins. I would contact the person who developed the plugins. You say they came "from the editor" - perhaps the editor has a way of getting in touch with whoever does tech support for these plugins? On 4/16/08, Paul Schneider <pschneider@apple.com> wrote: it sounds like you are saying that the built-in Final Cut effects (many of which are also FXScripts) do work, but your third-party FXScript plug-ins do not. Is this correct? Or are you getting syntax errors for the effects that ship with Final Cut as well? If any built-in effects are malfunctioning, you should re-install the suite. If it's just third-party plugins, you might try re- installing the plugins. Do these plugins come with an installer? If so, did you run the installer on each machine, or did you copy the plugins from one machine to another? Can you contact the developer who created these plugins? I'm new to this list, please direct me if this is the wrong list to ask, We are running almost 6 Final Cut Pro editing machines, these machines has 3rd party plugins installed for FCP on /Library/Application Support/ Final Cut Pro Support/Plugins - not sure if this is the right path, some of the plugins on the machine are working but almost all of them are not, when applied to a footage on a file it shows red and a white text "FXScript syntax error", I really dont know where to start troubleshooting, some of the plugins that are not working will work on other machine, can anyone help me out where to start troubleshooting. Do i need to install xcode tools - not sure of this, cause i heard most of this script are like a c programming. http://lists.apple.com/mailman/options/pro-apps-dev/pschneider%40apple.com This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
