Midi Plugins like MFX in Logic Audio Pro??
I hope this is the right forum to ask this question. I am wondering if there is currently any way by which I can implement a custom MIDI plugin that can be used within LA Pro to process MIDI tracks both in batch mode and in real time? I would like to implement a number of custom midi processing plugins similar to what is abundantly available in Sonar and Cubase using the MFX architecture of those Win32 programs. LA has the environment and some processing which can be achieved using it, but I really want to be able to create a completely custom midi plugin that goes way beyond what can be done with the Transformer, etc. A user should be able to select a track or sequence or even just a range of midi events.and apply one of these midi plugins to process all of the events in some way. In addition, real time midi event processing would be almost as beneficial in different situations. Is there any interface currently available for creating these kinds of plugins that would be accessible from within LA that way? If there is not, is it possible that Apple/Emagic would consider adding that kind of support to LAPro? I have been begging and pleading with MOTU for quite some time for this. They have their own midi plugins already available, but there is no publically available interface for programming custom plugins(yet) even though they have promised it 2 years ago. LA is the future for Mac midi sequencing, so I really hope Apple/Emagic will consider this a manadatory feature if its not possible already. Perhaps there is already some undocumented way to do it? On windows, both Sonar and Cubase provide this kind of functionality and there are a number of third party midi MFX plugins which have come to market because of it, extending the usefulness of both of those applications. It seems to me like it would be very simply to extend LA to support this kind of thing. It may also make sense to extend CoreMidi in some way to standardize midi plugins(similar to AU's). MU's perhaps? B-) Thanks -steve _______________________________________________ pro-apps-dev mailing list | pro-apps-dev@lists.apple.com Help/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo/pro-apps-dev Do not post admin requests to the list.
