If your footage is DV, then you'll have to set the 16:9 flag in the compressed DV stream. The DV format documentation should describe how to do that. Since your footage appears correctly in QT Player, it sounds like you are tagging it correctly with the pasp / clap QT atoms. Final Cut does not currently support these tags, but we are aware of this shortcoming and hope to address it in a future version. If your footage is not DV, or if setting the flag in the compressed DV stream is impossible, you'll have to tell FCP that the footage is anamorphic after the import, by checking the "anamorphic" box in the FCP browser. hy all ! my partners are currently writing an ingestsolution and seem to have a problem regarding 16:9 footage. if they capture using their 16:9 setting it shows up right in quicktime player (1024x576), but doesn ´t show up flagged anamorphic in fcp when drag & dropped into the browser. can somebody please tell me what flag has to be set in the quicktimefile to make this happen !?
