We're working on enabling this in the long term, but turning on universal metadata indexing introduces performance challenges that need to be addressed. The next question I had "propagate into edited sequences" is answered as well. Another question is, if I would modify the metadata within the current limitations are they searchable by a Spotlight search (includes Xsan search in 10.5)?
