But here the next one ;-) What will happen with the QT metadata if a file is rendered or exported from FCP as referenced file? No, today the metadata is not indexed by Spotlight. We're working on enabling this in the long term, but turning on universal metadata indexing introduces performance challenges that need to be addressed. Many thanks for the detailed answer (and thanks again Wes for the link), The reason I was asking is where - if at all - these data are visible to the user within FCP. But that now has been answered. The next question I had "propagate into edited sequences" is answered as well. Another question is, if I would modify the metadata within the current limitations are they searchable by a Spotlight search (includes Xsan search in 10.5)?
