Re: camera access in Motion

So, here's an open question to plug-in developers, to put this forum vehicle to the test... Of all of these concepts (camera matrix, focal length, lighting positions and properties, layer matrices, etc.), what would be the bare minimum feature set you would need in an API in order to do something interesting with 3D? Clearly you need the 4x4 matrix of the camera. Do you also need the 4x4 matrix of the layer the effect is applied to? Do you need to get the matrices of all the layers in a scene? Do you need to get the matrices for the lights in the scene? With the matrices of all of the layers and the info where the light are, a plugin can create effects around those layers which go along with the camera movement within the 3D-space of Motion. But then it is also very important to get the focal length of Motion's camera. This email sent to site_archiver@lists.apple.com
