FTP servers can be described as source or destination devices in Final Cut Server. Once you have Final Cut Server you will find yourself able to use it to solve all sorts of other Digital Asset Management issues even if you don't choose to declare it as your central DAM system. ...Or you can create a Compressor preset that will compress to the flavor desired and you can also declare FTP locations as Compressor Destinations. You can even include post render actions like run AppleScripts and what not... all in a compressor preset. Then with the new compressor, you can save the preset as a droplet and all of your people can have a handy dandy droplet on their desktop that they can drop stuff onto to auto-magically send to the right FTP location in the right flavor without a chance to mess up settings. Let us know if for some reason you still have a particular need that this might not cover. I need to develop an export plug-in for Final Cut Pro, which will export the project information and videos, to a destination folder. After export, the folder will be uploaded to our Digital Asset Management system via FTP. There is no plugin SDK for writing export plugins. What you can do instead is write an application which tells FCP to export its project as XML, and then you can parse and/or modify the XML to your liking.
