For example, are the development tools on a par with the OSX tools; are there issues in development or deployment created by the cross-platform work, etc? Any feedback at all and outrageous opinions generally :-) would be of interest. The user experience developing WebObjects applications on Windows is significantly more difficult than on Mac OS X. Unless you're willing to take on the extra work of using third party tools such as WOProject and WOLips to work around Apple's dismal support for the Windows platform, I'd run away from WO on Windows screaming. It's terrible. Some people manage to be productive using WebObjects on Windows--I was one of them for awhile--but it does involve a lot of extra work. That said, I think the WOLips team has done an excellent job of making working with WO on Windows possible at all. As for outrageous opinions, I'd suggest taking a look at standard, open-source solutions such as Hibernate, Cayenne, or Tapestry which provide similar toolkits to WebObjects in a much more cross platform-friendly environment.
