- Thread-topic: Cannot bypass MCX settings with local admin account
Hello,
We have a classroom of Mac Minis that are being managed through MCX. The Minis
are in a computer group and it is that group that is being managed.
How does the local admin account
on the Minis log on and bypass the MCX settings? I thought if the local
administrator holds down the Option key when clicking "Log In" at the
login window that a dialog window is supposed to appear prompting the
administrator with a "This computer will be managed. Would you like to
continue with managed settings enabled?" and the administrator can choose
to disable settings at this point. However, we tried this and do not get the
dialog window and cannot disable the managed settings.
At this point, all we can do is remove the Mac from the group being managed
when we want to service it.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Paul
