Greetings all,
Traditionally, Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has typically been in June. It's where many of our IT-focused education customers would get their training for the year since it is really a great conference. With the focus on iOS last year, though, there was no IT track and the focus was primarily on developing apps for iOS and Mac OS X.
With Lion slated for release this summer, many of you have asked me if the IT track would return this year. As you can probably guess, I have no idea. The dates, tracks and overall agenda for WWDC hasn't been announced. But I'm writing this post now so that you can think ahead and be ready to make your decision once details are announced.
Last year, WWDC sold out of tickets in a matter of days; not weeks. Once the registration is posted, and you have the budget and willingness to go, you'll want to act VERY quickly to ensure your ticket. As a "plan B," though, MacTech magazine has responded to the lack of an IT track at WWDC by hosting their own conference. Since it is focused on IT, many of the tracks are relevant to what our support customers in education expect. It's all about directory integration, storage, file management, deployment, etc. The MacTech conference will be held November 2-4 in Los Angeles.

Once the WWDC info is posted, we'll share it on this list. For now, though, be thinking about your options for professional development if you have them. These are great opportunities!
Thanks,
Corey
