Hi all,
I don’t ping out to this list very often…
I need to pose a question.
How do you use your mac with enterprise storage?
In today’s world the need to protect our files by relocating them to a site server or cloud storage is becoming the norm.
The cost of storage clusters are expensive, and playing in the computer world where there needs to be a ubiquitous solution for all OS platforms (play together). We need to utilize inexpensive solutions to attain this goal.
Our operations has posed tired, distributed, and cloud based solution to meet the ever growing storage needs, which to choose??? I pose to you as edu mac users to brainstorm this.
DFS… 10.7 and 10.8 support natively, but do not handle failover very well. Is this an OK solution knowing that failover is the exception to 99.99%
Is it OK to tell people running their old power pc 10.5, and 10.6 intel 32 bit systems that they need to buy new hardware to play in the new world?
What other solution are any of you using to keep private data private, and also allow group file sharing between Mac, Windows, Linux, IOS, and Android?
Thanks for all your input.
