Hi,
On the Autoraise issue I has 'suggested' to apple that they add a user
preference to allow the autoraise function to be disabled. They
obviously are not interested as indicated by the response below.
My question is, I need both good pseudo-color support for legacy apps
and the behavior that making autoraise is not active so a selection can
be made in a window without that window coming to the front. Does
anyone know what wm will do that on 10.3.2?
Thanks

Bug Id#3488749-Autoraise control of window actions in X11 needed
Hello Scott,
Thank you for taking the time to bring this issue to our attention.
Engineering has reviewed your report and has determined that this is
behavior intended by design and is working correctly per engineering
specifications.
Below, we have provided comments from engineering to help further
explain this conclusion:
The purpose of quartz-wm is to mimic the aqua behavior and provide the
user with similar experience whether one is using X11 or native
applications. Other window managers do provide this functionality.
There are no plans to add this to quartz-wm.
We hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact
us should you wish to discuss this matter further.
Thank you for your time. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,

* SUMMARY
When 'clicking' on a window in the quartz-wm the window always becomes
the foreground. This is not typical of X window managers and should be
a preference for the user so that existing X11 apps behave as
originally designed
* STEPS TO REPRODUCE
click on any area of an X11 window and it becomes foreground. This
should be setable so that the window only raises when selecting the
border or title bar
* RESULTS
se above
