It works fine for me. If my DISPLAY variable is set, gnuplot displays
with the x11 interface you're used to. If my DISPLAY variable is not
set, it fires up aquaterm (which fink installed at the same time as
gnuplot) and displays in that, which is rather better graphical quality
than the x11 driver.
What's your TERM variable set to?
