Oh? I didn't know that gnuplot was supposed to work under Terminal.app
?? I tried it and it works perfectly and aquaterm pops-up without fail.
Thanks for that, but I'm still curious as to why gnuplot does not work
for me using Apple's X11? I did use FINK to install it, and not some
*.dmg stuff. funny eh? On the other hand, gv does not work under
Terminal.app but OK using X11. This is SUPER confusing.
I even tried to set the term in Apple's X11 to "aqua", xterm did not
recognise it though but when I typed "echo $TERM" it returns "aqua".
Then I re-run gnuplot, but it still doesn't work.
Any idea how to make things work? I mean I could now continue working
with terminal.app, but I need to then switch between X11 and Aqua
interface if I were doing some LaTeXing under X11. Rather cumbersome
wouldn't you think?
thanks

what should the term be set to? how do I do that?
If you're using Terminal.app, then it's set correctly.
In an xterm, it should be set to xterm, but the xterm program should do
that for you.
I think that's irrelevant though - it works for me in Terminal too,
with
TERM set to vt100.
I'm stumped. I keep trying to break gnuplot with different terminal
apps, and different settings of TERM and DISPLAY, and I can't. It
stubbornly insists on working correctly.
