?! I use fink's gnuplot, installed with:
apt-get install gnuplot
and it works flawlessly. I think one thing that might make a difference
is that I always install binary packages with dselect or apt-get. I
have never used "fink install" to compile the sources on my machine, and
I seem to have avoided all of the issues I've seen on this list that
people have had with fink X clients. Everything just works. I suspect
that there are some subtle issues that crop up if you have a mixture of
fink binary packages and locally compiled fink packages on the system.
Who knows, it might also be an issue with which set of developer tools
you have installed; the one shipped with your copy of OS X, or the one
that you can download from Apple.
