alias, but it does run bash. I cannot find in the man pages where it
says so, but it is so.
bash gets the name by which it was called in arg[0] and will try to
behave the same way as sh if called as /bin/sh.
Agreed, but only with respect to its startup behavior. That is, you
can use bash syntax in your .profile even if you start bash as /bin/sh.
Well, it WAS that way the last time I looked.
