I am trying to run a remote X-windows application (on a Linux system) from
my Mac, but after typing in the command, get the following error message (I
replaced my IP address in the message with some text) that appears to
indicate that the remote server cannot connect to my machine (I turned off
my firewall for the exercise):
overgrid
[1] 24878
[jnt7@rotor3 jnt7]$ Xlib: connection to "ip address:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
Application initialization failed: couldn't connect to display "ip
address:0"
Error in startup script: invalid command name "winfo"
while executing
"winfo screenwidth ."
invoked from within
"expr [winfo screenwidth .] / 1280.0 "
invoked from within
"set Pref(swidthrat) [ expr [winfo screenwidth .] / 1280.0 ]"
(file "/home/end2/bin/og.tcl" line 63)
I did add an entry onto the remote server in my ~/.bash_profile that reads:
export DISPLAY=ip address:0 but still get this response, even after doing a
"source ~/.bash_profile"
Can anyone help?
