I have downloaded and compiled lesstif on my PowerBook with 10.3.2. I
use it with SGI Open Inventor, and overall it works pretty well. There
are some issues caused by missing overlay support, but that's an Apple
X11 issue. On a G4 in the lab I just used fink to download and compile
it, and that ran fine too. The only thing with using fink is that any
non-fink libraries will need to search fink's install locations
(usually /sw/lib).

libXm is a Motif library. I've never looked for Motif for Panther,

someone else can step in and help here. I've heard there is a
distribution
called Mootif that you can get. I don't know whether it is free or
not.
There is also one called LessTif.
