Does this have the new license?
Some parts do. XFree86 does not have just one license. For a complete
list of licenses see <http://xfree86.org/current/LICENSE.html> and
<http://xfree86.org/legal/licenses.html>. The "XFree86 Project
License", which covers only some part of the server code, was changed
for this release. Further clarification on exactly what the
requirements of the new license are can be found at
<http://xfree86.org/legal/licenses.html>.
The new XFree86 Project License is not GPL compatible, which means
that third parties can not mix GPL licensed code and this server code
in the same binary. This is not likely something that anyone would
ever want to do, so this is not a practical problem. (Although it may
be a political problem in some circles.) To avoid problems with GPL
incompatibility, none of the X libraries have had their license
changed, because they would commonly be linked with GPL code. In
discussions about the license change it became apparent that other
licenses that have long been a part of XFree86 are also GPL
incompatible. So this release does not change the GPL compatibility
status of XFree86.
