Hi, John
I have had some problems in the past with mouse behaviour, even with
emulation turned on.
Have you checked that a logitech driver is not overriding your clicks?
if so, you can tell the logitech driver to send
the correct button number. If there is any way you can get the
application to either tell you what button it is expecting, or what
button it thinks was pressed, this may help. It took my a couple tries
to figure this out in order to get gnuplot, xfig, and xemacs working,
but now even my scroll wheel works in emacs (buttons 4 and 5).
I'm not sure if this is your problem, since you say that it does work
in some areas. My suggestion: set the logitech driver to send mouse
button numbers, and turn emulation off in x11.app. See what that gets
you.

original message below
I have a user who is running the application GAMBIT (A computation flow
preprocessor from Fluent Inc.) on a Sun and remote displaying it to his
Mac running 10.3 and the latest X11 install. Or at least he'd like to
but there is a problem with the mouse behavior; certain portions of
the GAMBIT gui use the right and middle mouse buttons to expand menus
and/or choose default options and these are not working.
I say certain portions because in fact in part of the GAMBIT gui the 3
mouse buttons work as expected (used for rotating and zooming the
model). We have tried 3 button emulation with the Apple mouse and a 3
button Logitech mouse and in each case other applications respond as
expected to the various mouse behaviors but this particular portion of
the GAMBIT interface does not.
This application works flawlessly when displayed back to a Linux box, a
Sun, and a PC running Hummingbird Exceed.
Does anyone here have any insight into what may be causing this
behavior (a bug?), and any ideas as to a work around. I was asked to
help as the resident Sun/Solaris expert and now (new) Mac desktop user
but I admit to being a little startled at the inconsistent behavior.
Thanks in advance.
