I haven't had any of the problems you mention....I don't use EMACS but I do
use a lot of other X-windows software. I HAVE had
flaky trackpad behavior with my 17" G4, but this was
fixed with a really nice, free program called "sidetrack"
(from ragingmenace.com).

I wonder if this is related to running X11 on a Powerbook. I have funky problems
with X11 on my Powerbook G4 DVI since early beta. I sent in bug reports and all,
and no one really paid attention.
Do people who run X11 on Power Mac NOT have any of these problems?
