Is it possible to run Apple's X11.app and Xorgs v 6.8.0 on the same

It is possible to do most of what you asked.

However, generally the safest thing to do is to simply move /usr/X11R6 and
/etc/X11 aside to preserve Apple's installation and then install X11R6.8.0 as
usual.

The libraries for X11R6.8.0 should be a drop in replacement for Apple's
(based on XFree86 4.3.0). However, this won't buy you much because if you
don't replace the X server (XDarwin instead of X11.app) you won't get access
to any of the new extensions. You need both library and server side support
for them.

Thank you,
I have gotten part-way there. I am still able to use the old X11 v1 server.
However, the XDarwin.app will not load, complaining about a missing
MainMenu.nib file. The file is in the app bundle in
Contents/Resources/English.lproj --at least I assume that is the file it
cannot find. I got the sources from CVS yesterday evening (Thurs. US EDT).
But all the other libraries and such appear to have been installed correctly
and my X applications are not complaining about any missing parts, so that
is good.
What might I need to do to get XDarwin.app going correctly?
