Forgive me for stating the obvious, but might it not be easier just to
use a ScrollPane or JScrollPane within the application?
Meanwhile, I suspect a different window manager would do the trick?
I'm afraid I don't know any particularly well.

Hello.
Summarized Problem:
When using xterm/SSH/X11, the application window is truncated to the
screen size of my local machine.
Detail:
I am researching a graph-theory algorithm. I coded the algorithm in
Java on my Mac. When run on my Mac, the application's window extends
beyond the screen, but I can see the rest of the window by dragging it
on the screen. However, the application is CPU-intensive, so I've been
running the application on a supercomputer over xterm/SSH/X11 (ssh
-X). The resultant window is sized to the size of my local machine. I
can resize the window, but only smaller than the screen. Could you
please tell me how I can tell xterm/SSH/X11 that my screen is larger,
to not cap the size of the window, or to change the resolution?
Thank you.
