I apologize for the delay, but I have to collect some information:
We solve this problem on Linux system by letting follow the
invokation of the X service by a suitable ESC sequence which put the
X window as the foremost/ foreground application.
Can you tell me what ESC sequences you use?
I am interested in being able to programatically move (with shell
commands or AppleScript or anything...) xterms to the front/focus
without having to move the mouse. Is this really possible?
I have been not very precise (in fact I was completely wrong!).
The OS system was a Tru 64 Unix and it was not a ESC sequence but
a real modification of a specified X service (rxvt) including some
native X
options/commands to permit the action of putting the X window in the
foremost/foreground position. However it seem very "system dependent".
If you are still interested I can give you further information or
(best) to put in contact
with whom make the actual job.
I have noted that the "Commad + Tab" could do the same as the X11
application after the invokation of the X service follow the
Terminal application. But which is the code for the "Command" key ?
It is the one with the apple and 4 leaf clover on it. On my keyboard
it is immediately to the left of the space, and right of the
alt/option.
I realized to not be very clear. What I want to know is the ascii code
for the
"command" key not the position on the keyboard.
Thanking
Salvatore
