Speaking of this, what are peoples favorite 3 button Mice?
I bought a MacMice bluetooth 3-button/scroll wheel mouse. I liked a
lot of things about it, but the mouse movement was so jerky that I
gave up and went back to an Apple single button mouse.
Personally, I use Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical everywhere:

It's only $25, has three buttons (with one button being the scroll
wheel), and it "just works". Very smooth movement, nice scrolling.
Yes, I second that. My Logitech 3-button optical works very
transparently (pun intended), does everything I need, and I switch
between X11 and Mac all the time.
OK, I feel compelled to add:
Kensington PocketMouse Pro
Why?
1) compact, but not too small
2) optical
3) the cable / tether is thin and lightweight, but most importantly is
retractible (so I nave an 8" lead rather than 3-4 feet)
4) two buttons and scroll wheel work out-of-the-box, everywhere, Aqua
and X11
