I don't have a .cshrc file, just a .bashrc and .profile which are used by
bash on startup. My .profile contains one line to put the fink stuff in:
test -r /sw/bin/init.sh && . /sw/bin/init.sh
The system's /etc/profile and /etc/bashrc don't appear to do much that
would slow things down.
I ran csh from 1982 through about 1988 when SCO provided ksh in Xenix 2.3.4
or thereabouts. I much prefer the ksh ``vi'' mode for command editing to
that of csh and its variants, but that' probably because my first twenty
years of *nix was primarily on non-BSD systems.
