The answer to my problems:
Find the Mac OS X 10.4 installation DVD from you hidden place,
find "Alternative Other Packages" from a hidden directory.
install "X" from a hidden corner in these packages
and then everything works fine.
The apple developer site has a version for download that goes with
Mac OS X 10.3 (so a good friend tells me).
Best greetings

Subject: my Mac does not allow me to install X11
After having it done dozens of times before, my Mac with Mac OS X
10.4.7 (8J135) does not allow me to install X11 because he says it
is already installed. However I cannot find it anywhere (usually it
us under "Utilities".
Any idea what I can do now?
best
heinz
