Mount the Install DVD and scroll down to the file "Optional
Installs.mpkg" and open it. X11 is the last item under applications.
You may need to install Xcode on the DVD or in /Applications/
Installers/Xcode Tools

Hi X11 users. I have a question about getting X11 for
Tiger. The download on the Apple support page only
supports up to 10.3 and 10.4.x users have to run the
installer on their disk.
1, why do I need to run the whole installer just to
get X11?
2, There seems to be some libraries installed already,
just not the .app
3, the automatic updates to Mac OS X have moved me
beyond the version on my install disk and I dont want
to degrade my whole system.
How can I get the full X without messing about with
the daft installer (I dont want to accidentally wipe
my system)?
I am happy to compile stuff from source as long as it
doesnt screw up any existing X libraries.
If anyone from Apple is listening can you put a
download on the support site, pretty please?
I apologise for the newbieness of this post.
Best regards,
nicha
