Note that since XDroplet is an Aqua application, it inherits the
environment from the user login process, which is NOT the terminal,
bash, or xterm environments. If you are using an xterm shell to run
Gnome (i.e., xterm -e /sw/bin/gnome) within the droplet, you need to
revamp it as xterm -ls -e /sw/bin/gnome.

"/sw/bin/gnome" should work regardless of your path or shell.
Could one of you please explain what this /sw/bin/gnome command is
supposed to be doing and where it is supposed to come from? There is
gnome-session and gnome-panel and a whole bunch of other gnome-*
commands, but I have never seen "gnome" as a command.
I installed 'gnome-desktop' with Fink and would like to get the gnome
desktop environment up and running as I have a number GNOME based apps
that I use on a regular basis, rather than running each one separately
from the terminal.
