The gray border on the right side (in fullscreen mode) when maximizing
windows is very annoying (and if you have a dock on the OS X desktop it
leaves room for that as well, which is just crazy). This is a bug in
the the Apple quartz-wm. As far as I can tell it is impossible to get
a truely maximized window, even using internal GTK calls. I've filed a
bug report (ID # 4530669) about this but have no idea if anyone at
Apple is doing anything about it.
As an aside, Does anyone know how one finds out what is happening with
bug reports. It would seem after they are filed, it is just a mystery
whether anything is happening with them. I find the much more open
systems that Free and Open Source projects use to VASTLY superior!
